What help does Leergeld provide?
You can appeal to us if your child cannot participate in school sports and cultural activities. For example, the school trip at primary school, a laptop and foreign trip at secondary school, swimming lessons, music lessons and/or a scouting camp.

Please note! Since August 2021, all school fees are voluntary. You do not have to pay the fees and your child may still go on a school camp, for example.
Swimming lessons:
We provide support in obtaining the A- B- and C- diploma.
In Utrecht, there is a scheme where your child from 7 to 17 years old gets free swimming lessons and can get swimming certificate A for free. You can find the conditions here.
If your child does not qualify for this scheme and cannot manage to pay for swimming lessons, do a application At Leergeld Utrecht.

Sports fee:
If you do not manage to pay (in full) the contribution to the sports club, Leergeld will support you. Send the invoice and information to us.
Sportswear:
All children up to the age of 17 who have a U-pas can apply for help with the Paul Verweel Sports Fund.
If your child does not have a U-pas or is 18 years old, you can ask Leergeld Utrecht for help with sportswear. Our reimbursement is a maximum of €75 per year.
Sports camps:
If your child goes to camp with the sports club and you cannot pay for the camp, please contact us.
Cultural costs:
Contribution:
If you cannot pay (in full) the membership fees for your daughter or son of the cultural association, Leergeld, together with the Culture Youth Fund.
Culture camps:
If your child goes on camp with the cultural association or scouts and you cannot pay for the camp, please contact us.
