Organisation

On this page you will find information about how Leergeld Utrecht is structured. What work we do and which people are involved on the board.

Who does what?

Leergeld Utrecht runs largely on volunteers. These volunteers have direct contact with the families we help, process applications and support with administration, communication or management. The daily work is carried out by four part-time employees (3 fte) who have a salary based on the Collective Labour Agreement for Social Work. They manage and work together with the volunteers, assess applications and do a lot of work in communication, lobbying, cooperation with partners and fundraising.

The board of Leergeld Utrecht consists of:

  • Selma Bas - chairman
  • André Dijkhuijs- treasurer
  • Roos Nanninga - secretary
  • Vincent Liemburg
  • Pauline Fuhri
  • Peter van Corler
  • Eugenie van Leusen

Leergeld Utrecht also has ambassadors. They support Leergeld in its daily work. Our ambassadors are:

  • Rinda den Besten (former chair of the PO Council & former alderman)
  • Arjan Kleuver (chairman Centrummanagement Utrecht)
  • Nour el Ghezaoui (initiator NG Hulp - Kanaleneiland)

Policy

In our policy framework, we describe our strategy for 2025 to 2028; how we can reach even more children in Utrecht, relieve families and give them a voice. Read here Leergeld Utrecht's policy framework for 2025-2028.

Leergeld Utrecht provides support to families so that children can participate in school, sports and cultural activities. Currently, 1 in 8 children in the municipality of Utrecht grow up in poverty. They are often literally on the sidelines.

We provide opportunities for children aged 0 to 17 to participate in indoor and extracurricular activities. With support from Leergeld, children can get their swimming diplomas or take music lessons. In addition, we support the purchase of a laptop, sportswear and/or a bicycle. All normal necessities of life, enabling children to flourish, develop and count.

Let every child take part. Because participating now means being included later!
