More and more children in the Netherlands are unable to participate in school, sports and cultural activities for financial reasons. They often literally stand on the sidelines. Leergeld wants these children to participate! And we could really use your help.
Become a volunteer with Leergeld
By becoming a volunteer with Leergeld Utrecht, you help structurally tackle poverty among Utrecht children. You can register as a volunteer via the Volunteer centre. We will contact you as soon as possible.
We often seek volunteers for: administration, communication & home visits.

Leergeld Utrecht provides support to families so that children can participate in school, sports and cultural activities. Currently, 1 in 8 children in the municipality of Utrecht grow up in poverty. They are often literally on the sidelines.
We provide opportunities for children aged 0 to 17 to participate in indoor and extracurricular activities. With support from Leergeld, children can get their swimming diplomas or take music lessons. In addition, we support the purchase of a laptop, sportswear and/or a bicycle. All normal necessities of life, enabling children to flourish, develop and count.
